Our Mission

Sustainable solutions for post- displacement

Do Justice works alongside local leaders to discover and co-develop practical approaches for post-displacement rebuilding—helping people restore their livelihoods, regain agency, and move forward with dignity.

The Need

When emergency aid response ends, it’s only the beginning.

Displacement disrupts livelihoods, education, relationships, security, and hope for the future. When the immediate response recedes, people are often left without a clear path to rebuilding.

We believe post-displacement support should be as prepared and coordinated as emergency relief.

Our Story

Local leaders have repeated one thing: more opportunity.

Co-founders Jolien Wolfsen and Riya Plam have worked alongside refugees and displaced communities over the years.

Throughout that time, they kept returning to one question: What creates sustainable, lasting change?

They listened to people living and working closest to displacement. After months of meeting with local leaders, one need surfaced again and again: opportunity.

That insight shaped Do Justice and our commitment to assist in rebuilding that is locally led and collectively supported.

Our Vision

People deserve a clear path to rebuild after forced displacement.

We envision displaced people having the right support and opportunities to rebuild their futures.

Our hope is to see displaced communities met with a ready-to-implement, locally adaptable model to rebuilding sustainable livelihoods just as mobilizing emergency aid has been developed and implemented globally.

Because surviving displacement is only the beginning.

Our Approach

Rather than a single solution,
we take a holistic approach.

Rebuilding a sustainable livelihood requires an interconnected effort. With local leaders, we identify gaps and co-develop practical pathways that bring together the human, economic, and community support needed to rebuild.

01

Supporting trauma healing, resilience, and the sense of security people need to move forward.

02

Expanding access to skills, capital, mentorship, and meaningful ways to earn a living.

03

Connecting local leaders, organizations, and resources so they can coordinate sustainable solutions.

Local leaders guide the response. Our role is to help turn shared ideas into collective action.
